Triangle Tree

We learned that Christmas trees sometimes look like triangles. Even better we practiced using our pinching fingers to add sparkles one by one to our tree.

Run Run As Fast As You Can!

"The Gingerbread Man" book was a favorite this December. The kick off the reading of our story we finger painted our own gingerbread men. Instead of brown pain we painted in chocolate pudding. It smelled wonderful and tasted even better. Later in the week we got to make our own gingerbread men out of batter and then eat them for snack.

Our Feast

Our Thanksgiving feast was an event! Our story for the week was "Stone Soup" and our feast day project was creating our own stone soup. Everyone brought vegetables from home to share and add to a pot along with a stone, water, and spices. We had a very yummy feast! We also dressed in our Native American feather headbands and vests that we created this month. The vests were created in the same fashion as the Halloween costumes we made a few weeks back. Everyone looked so handsome in their feast attire!

Meet you at the top of the coconut tree!

After reading "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" we made our own coconut trees out of construction paper and color dot stickers. We ripped the trunk out of brown paper and had pre-cut shapes for our palm leaves. Using office supply dots with the alphabet printed on them, we added our letters to our coconut trees just like in the book.

Halloween Cookies

Sugar cookies, green & orange icing, and sprinkles. So fun to decorate!

Costumes

We used brown grocery bags turned inside out to make our own Halloween costumes. After cutting off handles of a brown bag, cut down the seam and turn inside out. Then cut a hole for the next and 2 holes for arms. We decorated using markers, glitter, wrapping supplies, and extra construction paper shapes from our monsters. Everyone loved creating a unique costume to wear at school.

Newest Addition

Baby O arrived on Oct. 18th! We are so happy to finally have him here. Everyone at school is loving having a 'little brother' around.

Monster Puppets

"Go Away Big Green Monster" is one great October book for preschool children. We learn that 'monsters' are just imaginary things put together with parts of our imagination. In honor of this book we created our own monster puppets using lunch bags on various construction paper shapes. They were as much fun to make as they were to play with.
